Advocacy

  • Driving Energy Transition

SECCA is home to nearly 387,000 residents and generating $27 billion annually in gross regional product (GRP), the Corridor is a powerhouse of industry, innovation, and community life. With a projected 33% population surge over the next two decades, we need to capture the opportunity. Already, over 46% of households have installed rooftop solar, demonstrating local commitment to renewable energy.

SECCA is keen to match this community ambition with decisive and coordinated action across governments, industries, and other stakeholders.

  • Urban Canopy

    Urban Canopy

Perth holds the unfortunate distinction of having the lowest urban canopy coverage of any capital city in Australia, with less than 20%. This is an urgent issue that demands immediate and sustained action.

To address this challenge, the WA Local Government Association (WALGA) has continued to be a strong advocate for the creation of a Statewide Urban Forest Strategy, aiming for a 30% tree canopy by 2040 across Perth and Peel.

  • Community Living (Sporting)

    Community Living (Sporting)

The South East Corridor Council Alliance (SECCA) has set itself a vision to become the State’s Most Sustainable Corridor. Advancing sporting infrastructure to meet the growing needs of communities within the Corridor is one mission focus area that will deliver the vision.
